Channing
Skip unless you have a specific reason (snowmobile trail access, visiting someone). It's a 15-minute stop on the way to Iron Mountain or Marquette.
Channing is a tiny former railroad junction in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, population about 1,000. It has one restaurant, a bar and a post office. Most travellers pass through on M-95 between Iron Mountain and Marquette without stopping. There are no hotels, no museums and no passenger rail. Plan zero nights unless you are snowmobiling.
