McCaysville sits on the Georgia–Tennessee line, forming twin cities with Copperhill. Its main draw is the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway terminus and a handful of antique and specialty shops. Most visitors spend 2–3 hours here as part of a day trip from Blue Ridge or en route to the Ocoee River.
