Getting around

The town is small and walkable: station to ferry pier is about 200 m, and the promenade, Vikingar and the main eating places are all within 15 minutes on foot. Buses 901, 903 and 585 stop in town, including at the station and pier. Taxis are available but rarely needed.

The centre is generally safe and well-policed by day; the main nuisance is late-evening drinkers looking for trouble. Standard UK precautions apply.
  • Late evening in the town centre can bring aggressive drunks; keep to lit streets and don't linger around closing time.
