Chalmett e is a small suburb of New Orleans, the parish seat of Saint Bernard. Its main attractions – the Battle of New Orleans site, the National Cemetery and the De la Ronde Plantation ruins – are close together and can be seen in a half‑day. Most visitors stay in New Orleans and make a quick day‑trip.
