Bukit Tinggi

Skip Bukit Tinggi unless you have a car and want a half-day French-village photo stop between KL and Genting Highlands; one night only if you book Colmar Tropicale.

Bukit Tinggi is a hill resort in Pahang, 45 min from Kuala Lumpur, built around the Colmar Tropicale replica of a French village. The Japanese Garden and clock tower add an hour of walking. Without a car the shuttle bus from KL limits your timing. Most travellers use it as a short stop en route to Genting Highlands or Janda Baik, not a destination.

Watch out

Safety

Bukit Tinggi is safe for tourists. The main risks are slippery paths in the Japanese Garden after rain and the winding mountain road from KL — drive carefully.
  • Weekends and public holidays get crowded; arrive before 11:00.
  • The Berjaya shuttle bus from KL runs only three times a day (10:00, 13:00, 17:00); check the return schedule before you go.
  • No ATM or bank in the resort; bring enough ringgit.
  • The clock tower elevator may be out of service — check.
