Varamin is a small city southeast of Tehran with two notable Ilkhanid-era monuments and a carpet market. Most travellers visit as a half-day trip from Tehran or Ray, combining the Jameh Mosque and Imamzadeh Yahya mausoleum. The city itself is quiet and dusty; there is little else to fill a full day.
