Barra do Ribeiro
Skip unless you have a car and want a quiet riverside afternoon on Lake Guaíba; half a day is enough.
Barra do Ribeiro is a small town on the shores of Lake Guaíba, about 45 km south of Porto Alegre. It offers a couple of river beaches and a calm, local atmosphere. Without a car, getting here is impractical, and the sights are limited. Most travellers should spend their time elsewhere in Grande Porto Alegre.
