Half a day covers the Khorheh ruins and the mineral-water baths; sleep one night only if you want the baths unhurried.

Mahallat is a small city in Markazi Province, about 3 h by bus from Tehran or Isfahan, known for warm mineral springs and the Hellenistic ruins at Khorheh. It works as a short stopover between the two big cities, or as one night if you want the baths without rushing.

Watch out

Safety

Mahallat is a small, quiet city and the usual precautions apply: keep cash and documents close in crowded baths and bazaars, and check your own government's travel advice for Iran before booking.
  • Bus times can shift around holidays; confirm at the terminal on the day.
  • Hot-spring pools fill up in summer; go early morning.
  • Card payments are unreliable outside big cities: carry enough rial cash.

What we know, and what is coming

On this page

  1. Best months: Mar–May, Sep–Oct · avoid Jun–Aug (hot, 34–37 °C highs)
  2. 2 airports and 1 area to sleep in
  3. Weather: a 7-day forecast and monthly averages
  4. Cost per day in 3 bands
  5. 3 day-trips, door to door
  6. 3 things to watch out for, with emergency numbers

Coming as the guide grows

  1. Add a night at Hotel Agsha so the baths are not squeezed around a bus departure.
  2. Pair Mahallat with Arak or Qom as a two-stop Markazi leg instead of a single detour.
  3. Field-check bus departure times from Tehran and Isfahan terminals before publishing fares.
