Give Omagh one night, or a half-day stop: the Ulster American Folk Park is the reason to come, the town itself needs two hours.
Omagh is a market town of about 20,500 in County Tyrone, at the meeting of two rivers that form the Strule. Its name carries the 1998 bombing, and the memorials on Market Street are part of any visit. The main draw sits 5 km northwest: the Ulster American Folk Park, an open-air museum on the emigrant experience. Buses from Belfast take 1 h 40 min; there is no railway.

Getting around
The centre is walkable in 15 minutes end to end. For the Ulster American Folk Park take Ulsterbus 273 or 97 towards Strabane and ask for the park stop; for the Abingdon Collection take the same bus to Mountjoy post office. Taxis: Urgent Taxis and P & L. National Cycleway routes 92 and 95 pass through town, mostly on-road.
