Louisville is a small Stark County town of about 9,200 people, 20–30 minutes east of Canton by car. Almost everything sits within walking distance of Main Street (SR 153) and Chapel Street/Ravenna Avenue (SR 44). There is one bed and breakfast and no hotel strip, so most visitors sleep in Canton, North Canton or Alliance and treat Louisville as a half-day or a lunch stop on the way to Hartville or Alliance.

Getting around
You need a car for anything outside the two main streets. In town, park once and walk: Main Street parking is limited, but most businesses have a few spaces behind them and there is a lot at the Giant Eagle. SARTA buses (Routes 139 and 153) link Louisville with Canton, East Canton and Alliance, roughly hourly on main routes, 365 days a year; holiday service follows the Sunday schedule. Fares are $1.15 regular and $0.50 reduced.

- Freight trains cross Main Street and Chapel Street and can back traffic up more than a mile: if you hear a train, stay put and wait it out.
- Lodging is scarce in town — book Canton, North Canton or Alliance ahead on football weekends and during Constitution Week.
- Sidewalks thin out away from Main Street and Chapel Street; drive or use SARTA after dark.
- Winter ice and snow squalls off Lake Erie make SR 44 and US-62 slower than the map suggests.
