Monte Alegre do Sul
A half-day stop for a mineral bath and cachaça tasting, or a quiet overnight; not a base for the region.
Monte Alegre do Sul is a small spa town in São Paulo state, 1.5 h from Campinas. Its historic centre, mineral springs and cachaça breweries fill a relaxed afternoon. Most travellers combine it with Águas de Lindóia or Serra Negra on a day trip from Campinas.
