Ramadiالرمادي
Ramadi is a half-day stop for those already on the Baghdad–Jordan highway: see the rebuilt Great Mosque, then move on. Not a base.
Ramadi, the Sunni Arab capital of Al Anbar on the Euphrates, was heavily damaged in the 2003–2011 war and again during the 2015 ISIL occupation. Reconstruction is ongoing. The main draw is the Great Mosque of Ramadi (rebuilt 2017). Most travellers pass through on the road from Amman to Baghdad rather than making a dedicated trip.
