Brewster is a bayside town on the Lower Cape, quieter than Chatham or Provincetown and built around Route 6A, old sea captains' houses and Nickerson State Park. Most visitors come for the Cape Cod Rail Trail, the ponds and the beaches, and use it as a base for the rest of the Lower Cape. A car or a bike is close to essential; the regional bus does not run on Sundays.

Getting around
A car is the practical default: Route 6A runs the length of the town and Route 6 is the fast road. The Cape Cod Rail Trail is the best way to move without a car — it crosses Brewster and links to Orleans and beyond. Cape Cod RTA buses cover the Cape but there is no Sunday service, so plan around it.
