BudslaŭБудслаў

Go for the Baroque basilica and the yearly pilgrimage; half a day is enough. Combine with Molodechno or Myadzyel for a full day.

Budslaŭ is a small village in the Minsk Region, known almost exclusively for the Sanctuary of the Mother of God of Budslaŭ, a Baroque Minor Basilica that draws pilgrims each July. The village has little else: a ruined manor and a quiet rural setting. Most travellers stop for 2–3 hours on the way to or from the lakes around Myadzyel.

  • Europe ↗Non-EU visitors get 90 days in any rolling 180-day window, counted across all 29 Schengen states together — not per country; the Entry/Exit System now logs each crossing, so an overstay is detected automatically.
  • Europe ↗On the first Schengen entry since EES began, non-EU travellers give four fingerprints and a face photo at the border instead of a passport stamp; there is nothing to apply for or pay in advance.
  • Eastern Europe ↗Reach this subregion only from the EU side — Romania for Moldova — through crossings run by recognised authorities; no route through Ukraine, Belarus or Russia is planned here.
  • Eastern Europe ↗Re-read your government's advice for Moldova (it covers Transnistria) in the week you travel; the situation next door changes fast.
  • Eastern Europe ↗Carry euros in cash for Transnistria and village Moldova; cards stop working at the Dniester.
  • Belarus ↗Check your own government travel advice for Belarus before any booking; advice depends on your passport and changes without notice.
  • Belarus ↗Land crossings from Poland, Lithuania and Latvia open and close on short notice; confirm the crossing on the day with that country's border guard.
  • Belarus ↗Confirm that your travel insurance and medical evacuation cover apply to Belarus before you rely on it.

Watch out

Safety

Budslaŭ is a quiet village with low crime. The main risk is the lack of services: no pharmacy, no ATM. Bring cash and any medication you might need.
  • The basilica is an active church; dress modestly and avoid visiting during services if you want to look around freely.
  • No restaurants or cafés with regular hours in the village; bring snacks and water.
  • The train station (Kruliaŭščyna) is a small halt with no ticket office; buy tickets online or at Molodechno.
