Tagaytay
Go for 1–2 nights from Manila: 2–2.5 h by car, cool ridge air, Taal views from the rim. Skip Jul–Aug rain and Holy Week crowds.
Tagaytay sits on a ridge about 600 m up in Cavite, roughly 60 km south of Manila, and works as a short cool-air break rather than a long stay. You come for the Taal Volcano and lake views from the cliffside strip, a handful of parks and gardens, and food. One night covers the classic loop; two nights if you add a farm, a mall or a day trip. It is a drive-and-eat town with no real taxi fleet, so plan transport before you book a bed.
