Fishers is a fast-growing suburb 25 km north of Indianapolis on I-69, with roughly 99,000 residents and almost no walkable core. Its one real sight is Conner Prairie, an 1880s living-history museum. Everything else is parks, trails, golf and chain hotels. Come for Conner Prairie or to visit family; skip it as a sightseeing base.

Getting around

A car is effectively required: hotels, parks and Conner Prairie sit 3–8 km apart with no useful bus network. Rideshare works but surges during events. The Nickel Plate Trail is a paved walking and cycling route through the centre, from 106th St to 146th St.
