Barra de Santo Antônio
A quiet beach town 40 min from Maceió. Worth 2–3 nights if you want uncrowded natural pools and coconut groves; skip if you need nightlife or big resorts.
Barra de Santo Antônio is a low-key seaside town in Alagoas, 37 km northeast of Maceió. Its beaches have reef-lined natural pools and are less crowded than those near the capital. Most visitors come for 2–3 nights of beach time, boat trips to Ilha da Crôa, and fresh seafood. The town has basic services but no major resorts.
