Buscalan

Buscalan is a 2–3 day detour for a traditional Kalinga tattoo from Apo Whang Od and a glimpse of remote Cordillera life. Not a casual stop.

Buscalan is a tiny mountain village in Kalinga, Luzon Cordilleras, home of the Butbut tribe and Apo Whang Od, the last traditional mambabatok (tattoo artist). The trip involves a 1.5-hour trek from the nearest road, homestay accommodation, and a deep cultural experience. Most visitors come for the tattoo and leave after one night.
