Trancoso
Two nights minimum: one full day for the Quadrado and beach, a second for a boat trip or horse ride. A day trip from Porto Seguro is possible but rushed.
Trancoso is a quiet, upscale beach town on Bahia's Discovery Coast, centred on the Quadrado, a grassy square lined with colourful colonial houses. It draws travellers who want a slower pace than Porto Seguro or Arraial d'Ajuda, with good beaches, simple pousadas and a handful of restaurants. Most visitors stay 2–3 nights.
