Hengelo is an industrial Twente town, rebuilt after its centre was destroyed in October 1944, and it works as a rail junction rather than a sightseeing stop. The station is the main train hub for the Twente region, with intercity trains to Amsterdam, Schiphol, Utrecht, The Hague and Deventer, and international services toward Germany — check current international trains before booking.
