Lisbon is the seat of Columbiana County, a small village of about 2,800 people on US 30 between Canton and Pittsburgh. There is one courthouse square, a library and Guilford Lake State Park a short drive west. It works as a half-day detour on a US 30 drive, not as a place to sleep for a trip.

You need a car. US 30 crosses the village east–west and SR 11 runs north–south nearby; there is no useful local bus. The courthouse square is walkable in 10 minutes; Guilford Lake is a 15-minute drive west on US 30 and SR 172.

Lisbon is a quiet small town and violent crime is low. The real risks are driving: deer at dusk on US 30 and SR 11, winter ice, and long unlit rural stretches at night.
  • No public transport to the lake: without a car you are limited to the square.
  • Winter brings ice, lake-effect snow and short daylight; check road conditions before driving US 30.
  • Motel inventory in the village is very small — book Salem or East Liverpool if you need a guaranteed bed.
