Uberaba
Half a day for the paleontology museum and a good meal; one night if you want to explore the parks and dine on Mineira food.
Uberaba is a mid-size city in the Triângulo Mineiro region, known as the 'Land of Giants' for the dinosaur fossils found nearby. The main draw is the Peirópolis Paleontology Museum, a 20-minute drive from the centre, plus a few parks and a cathedral. Most travellers use it as a stop between Brasília and Belo Horizonte or as a base for agribusiness trips.

- Brazil ↗Yellow fever vaccination is recommended for many areas, including the Amazon and Pantanal; check with a travel clinic at least 10 days before travel.
- Brazil ↗Keep your phone out of sight in the street and on beaches; phone theft is the most common crime against visitors in big cities.
