Aran va Bidgol is a small desert town 12 km northeast of Kashan, best known as a gateway to the Maranjab desert with its salt lakes, sand dunes and the restored Maranjab caravansary. Most travellers visit on a half-day trip from Kashan or as a stop between Isfahan and Tehran.
