Cala Millor is the biggest resort on Mallorca's east coast, a 1.8 km sandy beach with a low-rise strip running north into Cala Bona and south towards Sa Coma and S'Illot. It is a package-holiday town: hotels, promenade, family beaches, caves and boat trips nearby. Come for the sea and the easy logistics, not for a historic centre.

Getting around

The beach strip is walkable end to end in about 25 min. TIB bus 425 links Portocristo, Cala Millor and Cala Bona every 20 min; bus 424 runs to Cala Ratjada every 45 min; bus 401 goes to Palma in about 2 h. Taxis wait on Sol Naixent. A dozen places rent bicycles; a car helps for caves, coves and inland villages.

Watch out

Safety

A low-crime resort town; the real risks are sunburn, rip currents outside the lifeguard season and late-night drinking on the strip. Keep bags zipped on the beach.
  • Bus 401 may not be used for the coast stretch beyond Portocristo: take the 424 or 425 instead.
  • Many hotels and restaurants shut from November to March; check before booking a winter trip.
  • The islet at S'Illot is eroded limestone: do not try to land on it.
  • Cave and waterpark tickets are dated or capacity-limited in summer: book ahead.
  • Sun and sea are the main hazards: no lifeguards outside the summer season.
