Kugluktukᖁᕐᓗᖅᑐᖅ
Go only if you are already flying the western Arctic: 2 nights, June–August, day trip to Kugluk/Bloody Falls, no bars and one takeout.
Kugluktuk is a hamlet of about 1,400 people at the mouth of the Coppermine River in Nunavut's Kitikmeot Region, and it is the warmest spot in the territory in July. There is no road in and no passenger boat: you arrive on a Canadian North flight from Yellowknife, walk everywhere in town, and the reason to come is the tundra and Kugluk (Bloody Falls) Territorial Park. Two nights covers it; a third only if weather delays a flight.

- North America ↗Crossing between the US, Canada and Mexico by land needs your passport even on a day trip; rental cars need the company's written permission to cross, and most US and Canadian rental insurance stops at the Mexican border.
- North America ↗Cannabis is legal in Canada and in many US states, but taking any amount across the US, Canadian or Mexican border is a federal crime — including edibles and vapes.
- North America ↗The busiest US and Canadian national parks need timed-entry, campsite or lodge reservations in summer; release dates are months ahead.
- Canada ↗Visa-exempt travellers flying to or through Canada usually need an eTA; check your passport on the official Government of Canada site (canada.ca) and apply only there.
- Canada ↗A Parks Canada pass is needed to stop in national parks such as Banff and Jasper; some spots (for example Moraine Lake) are reached only by shuttle or tour, so book ahead.
- Canada ↗Keep well away from bears, elk and moose; carry bear spray on Rockies trails and follow trail closures.

- Alcohol is restricted in Kugluktuk: check the current Nunavut rules before you pack any.
- Kugluk park is 15 km (9.3 mi) out on a rough road: 1 h by ATV, 4 h by bicycle, a full day on foot, about 30 min by boat up the Coppermine River.Kugluk park is 9.3 mi (15 km) out on a rough road: 1 h by ATV, 4 h by bicycle, a full day on foot, about 30 min by boat up the Coppermine River.
- Non-Inuit fishing needs a licence, sold at the wildlife conservation office in town.
- Flights are the only way in or out and weather cancels them: leave a buffer day before any onward international flight.
- Polar bear and grizzly country: travel with a local guide outside the hamlet.

- Two walking clusters with rescue anchors: hamlet centre stores and takeout, Coronation Drive B&B strip.
- Place pages with verified hours (heritage centre, Kugluk park access) and an eat page with the takeout's staffing closures.
- Hostile-weather fixtures so gate A can go green for a 2-night June–August trip.
