Persepolis is a UNESCO World Heritage ruin 60 km north‑east of Shiraz. No public transport reaches the site; a short taxi ride from Marvdasht or a longer Shiraz taxi is required. A half‑day covers the main terraces, reliefs and museum; stay overnight only if you want a relaxed pace or to combine with nearby Pasargad.
