Family fun
What works with kids, by age band.
- Prague is walkable with children but cobbles and steps are hard on strollers: bring a light folding stroller and a baby carrier for Old Town, the castle and Malá Strana.
- Kampa Island's lawns and playground, and the funicular up Petřín Hill with the mirror maze and a small tower, are the easy child stops near the bridge.
- The moving figures of the astronomical clock on the hour and the changing of the guard at the castle around noon interest most children; go early to avoid the crowd.
- Prague Zoo (in Troja, north of the centre) is one of the better zoos in Europe: allow half a day and check the opening hours and prices before you go.
- Children under 6 travel free on Prague public transport; ages 6 to 15 have a discounted fare (check the current table). Bring a passport or ID card for age proof.
- Czech restaurants usually have a kids' menu or half portions; ask 'dětská porce'. Family rooms in the centre are limited; apartments in Vinohrady or New Town give more space.

How this page is built
Built from Voykit's data; times and prices change
14 picks come from Voykit's entertainment notes for Prague, checked 2026-09. The rest are drawn from this guide’s own Prague lists: the things-to-do list, experiences and tours, drinking spots, weekly events, the rainy-day plan and the like-a-local picks. A city gets this page with at least 6 picks across 3 kinds.
“Tonight” and “this weekend” use your device clock converted to Prague time (Europe/Prague) and only list picks with set times in our data. Walk and ride times in the planner are straight-line estimates. The rain switch uses a live Open-Meteo forecast. Prices are local currency with an approximate conversion; anything marked check can change, so confirm on the venue’s own site before you go.
