  • Lunch is the best value: many pubs offer a set weekday menu (polední menu) from 11:00 to 14:00 at about CZK 170-280.
  • Skip restaurants directly on Old Town Square and Charles Bridge: prices are two to three times a normal pub.
  • Check whether service is on the bill; add about 10% only if it is not, and tell the waiter the total you want.
  • Late-night food: pubs serve until about 22:00-23:00; after that look for street sausage stands on Wenceslas Square, 24-hour kebab shops, and hotel snack bars. Options are limited after midnight.
