Perrysburg is an affluent, car-centric suburb of Toledo on the Maumee River, about 20,600 people, off I-75. Its one real sight is Fort Meigs, the largest wooden-walled fort in North America and a War of 1812 site. Downtown and Levis Commons are walkable; everything else needs a car. Most travellers pass through in half a day or sleep one night between Toledo and Bowling Green.

Getting around

A car is the practical choice: sights are spread along the river and the I-75 corridor. Downtown and Levis Commons are walkable once parked, and the town is flat and bikable. There is no bus link from Toledo, so do not plan on arriving by public transport.

A low-crime, well-off suburb; the real risks are winter driving on I-75 and US-23, and drinking on a night out with no bus home.
  • No bus service from Toledo: arrive by car or taxi/rideshare.
  • Fort Meigs is seasonal and mostly outdoor — check opening dates before you drive out.
  • Winter ice and lake-effect snow can slow I-75 and US-23.
