Give Łódź 1–2 nights as a stop between Warsaw and Kraków: Piotrkowska Street, Manufaktura and the film school, not a full sightseeing city.
Łódź is Poland's third-largest city and was built almost from scratch by 19th-century textile mills, so it has Europe-scale factory architecture and a film-school reputation rather than an old town. Piotrkowska Street runs 4 km through the centre and holds most of what you will do. It sits at the crossing of the A1 and A2 motorways and has direct trains from Warsaw and Kraków, which makes it a practical one- or two-night stop rather than a destination in itself.
