Nusa Tenggara is the Lesser Sunda chain running east from Bali: Lombok, Sumbawa, Sumba, Flores, Alor and West Timor. It is not a single destination. Inter-island flights are cheap and frequent but eat half a day each; ferries are slower and weather-dependent. Most first trips pick Lombok (beaches, Rinjani) or Flores with Komodo (dragons, reefs, Kelimutu). Doing both in one week means two travel days. The Wallace line runs between Bali and Lombok, so the wildlife and the dry-season landscape change as soon as you cross.
