The Northern Territory is two destinations wearing one name. The Red Centre is desert: Uluru, Kata Tjuta, Alice Springs, cold winter nights, hot summer days. The Top End is tropical: Darwin, Kakadu, Katherine, Litchfield, a wet season that closes roads and a dry season that fills them. They sit about 1,500 km apart. Fly between them or choose one. Most first trips pick the Red Centre for 3–4 nights or the Top End for 4–5, not both in a week.
