Victoria Island or Ikoyi puts you near the galleries, Terra Kulture and the Lekki corridor; Lagos Island's Freedom Park and Tafawa Balewa Square are easiest on a Sunday morning when traffic thins. Then fly, don't drive, to your second city. Abuja suits travellers who want a quieter, greener capital with Aso Rock and the National Mosque; Calabar suits those who want carnival energy in December, colonial-era streets and the primate projects in Cross River. If you have a third slot, take one Yoruba heritage stop rather than three.
