Nature's Valley

Nature's Valley is a small village wedged between the Soutrivier, the Tsitsikamma Mountains, the Indian Ocean and the Grootrivier lagoon, and it sits inside the Tsitsikamma National Park. There is no airport, no rail station and almost no public transport, so you need a car or a lift in. Most people come for two things: walking the coast and swimming in the lagoon.

Walk. The village is small and the beach and lagoon are on foot. Everything else — The Crags, Bloukrans Bridge, Storms River — needs a car; there is no local bus. Minibus taxis run from Plettenberg Bay to Kurland, then you walk or hitch the last stretch.

The village is quiet and low-crime; the real risks are the sea, the trails and the drive. Swim in the lagoon, not the open surf, tell someone your route, and do not leave valuables in a parked car at trailheads.
