Get around
A car is the practical choice: the town is about 20 miles long and under 2 miles wide, and beaches, the pier and Galilee are spread out. Parking at state beaches is paid in season and fills quickly on summer weekends. A seasonal beach pass covers parking at state beaches; the Southern Rhode Island Trolley has linked Wakefield, the Pier and Galilee in season — confirm 2026 dates and hours before relying on it. Bikes work on Ocean Road and Boston Neck Road; rideshare is thin outside the centre.
