Morristown is a small city in Eastern Tennessee, halfway between Knoxville and the Tri-Cities, straddling Douglas Lake and Cherokee Reservoir. Its main draws are the Crockett Tavern Museum (Davy Crockett's father's tavern), Panther Creek State Park for water recreation, and a peculiar 1960s urban-renewal downtown with elevated sidewalks. Most visitors pass through in half a day or stay one night as a stopover on I-81.
