Mata-Utu is the capital of Wallis and Futuna: a few streets around a cathedral and a royal palace on the east coast of Wallis. It is small, hot and humid all year, has few shops open on Sundays, and few flights arrive each week. Four clusters cover it in two easy mornings; the crater lake needs a car. Bring cash in CFP francs.
