Massachusetts is small but not one trip. Boston is walkable and car-free; everything else — Cape Cod, the Berkshires, the Pioneer Valley — is a separate 2–4 night base reached by car, bus or a slow train. Trying to see the whole state in one pass means four hours a day in traffic on I-90 and I-95. Pick Boston plus one region, and leave the rest for the next visit.
