The Maskinongé MRC is a rural county west of Trois-Rivières: rivers, lakes, small villages and farm country, with Louiseville as its largest town. It works as a quiet base for the Mauricie and Lake Saint-Pierre, or as a stop on Route 132 between Trois-Rivières and Montréal. Two nights covers the main villages; more only if you are fishing, boating or at a ranch.
