The honest verdict

Maseru is a small, low-rise capital on the border with South Africa. Its sights are close together and few; the trips that go wrong are late-afternoon border crossings, mountain drives that run into the dark, and arrivals that assume a scheduled flight. Four short clusters cover a first visit, and a taxi or hired car joins them.
