Majuro
Majuro is a morning-and-evening atoll town: do the museum and the lagoon shore before the sun is high, rest in AC at midday, ride after dark — and let the island-hopper timetable set your dates.
Majuro is a ring of narrow islets about 50 km long, with one road from Laura in the west to Delap, Uliga and Darrit, the capital's built-up east end. Everything a short visit needs sits along that road, so the questions are which end to sleep at and whether to spend a day on the western beach. Flights are few, water is limited and cash is the rule outside the hotels.

- No pass. Shared taxis run along the main road for a small fare; agree the price before you get in and hire a driver for Laura.
- Late at night
- No rail. Taxis are few after dark: ask the hotel to book the ride back before you go out.
