The Lower Darling is river country at the edge of the Outback: the Murray, Darling and Murrumbidgee meet near Wentworth, and Mungo National Park's Walls of China sit an hour north of the highway. Every town here sits on a river, and there are no scheduled flights, so this is a road region. Two nights with a car covers the highlights; without one, the coaches reach only Balranald, Euston and Buronga, and you will miss Mungo.
