Lagoa do Carro
Half-day stop between Recife and Tracunhaém for tapestry shopping and a cachaça tasting; not a base.
Lagoa do Carro is a small town 61 km northwest of Recife, known for artisanal tapestry. Most visitors stop for a couple of hours on the way to Tracunhaém (ceramic art) or Carpina. The town itself has one museum and a few cooperative shops. One night is enough only if you want a quiet rural stay.
