Grand Isle County is a set of Lake Champlain islands plus a northern peninsula, reached by two bridges and a causeway, with no public transport. Come for flat cycling, lake swimming, state-park camping and quiet inns, not for sights. Base in South Hero or North Hero for 1–2 nights between Burlington and Montreal; day-trip only if you already have a car.
