  • City Hall is a Gothic Revival timber building completed in the late 1880s, and it is one of the most photographed wooden buildings in the country.
  • It is a working municipal building, so the outside is the visit; inside access for visitors is not reliably published, so ask your hotel or check locally.
  • The neighbouring streets have several other wooden colonial buildings, but pavements are broken and drains are open: watch your feet, and keep bags in the car.
