The visitable city is a grid of streets running south of the Demerara River: Stabroek Market and the river ferry landing at the northwest, Main Street and the cathedral quarter in the middle, and the Kingston seawall and Botanical Gardens to the north-east. It is walkable in daylight in small hops, but taxis join the parts.
