Frye Island
A day trip or a weekend stay from Portland or the Sebago Lake area, but only from May through October: the ferry stops and the island empties in winter.
Frye Island is a seasonal resort town on Sebago Lake, reachable by a 10-minute car ferry from Raymond, Maine. With a population of 5 year-round, it's a quiet escape for swimming, biking, hiking and golf-cart cruising. The island has no hotels, only rental cottages, and everything closes from November to April.
