Franklinville is a village of about 3,100 people in Cattaraugus County, western New York, on the junction of State Routes 16 and 98. It is a small-town stop rather than a destination: a historic square, two small museums, a roller rink and a country club, with the Allegheny foothills and Ellicottville's ski hills within a short drive. One night covers it; the last weekend of April is the one date worth planning around.
