Enniscorthy is a Slaney-side market town of about 12,000 people in County Wexford, and the place where the 1798 rebellion made its last stand on Vinegar Hill. The castle, cathedral, Market Square and the 1798 centre sit within about 15 minutes on foot of each other; Vinegar Hill is a separate 2 km walk east of town. It works as one night between Dublin and Wexford, or as a stop on the Rosslare train. Two nights only if you add Ferns, Wells House or a Blackstairs walk.
