The Metroplex is two cores about 50 km apart, joined by the TRE commuter train. Dallas is the bigger, denser downtown with the arts district and the JFK site; Fort Worth is smaller, walkable and keeps the cattle-yards history. Sleeping in one and day-tripping the other costs less than changing hotels, and a car is only worth it for the suburbs and the lakes.
